There has not been this much elevation change since Valle d'Aosta. Beautifully friendly people in Bardone, Terenzo, and Sivizzano. I think it was in Terenza that I took a photo of a small church and then saw the street name Strada Santo Stefano. I asked the owner of the next house over, as he was gardening, if Santo Stefano was the name of the church. He answered, "yes" and then went into an explanation of the unique cross in front of the church. We actually had an interesting philosophical and political conversation.

Climbing the Apennines offered beautiful vistas when there was a clearing in the trees. I reached an altitude where pines predominate. Some of the ascents and descents were a bit tricky but worth a trek through the pine forest of the Apennines.
